Emptying Mac OSX Trash with locked files

Ever had the issue that when you want to empty your trashcan a message in OS X pops-up going something like: Cannot remove file because it is protected or in use?

I’ve had this hundreds of times and sometimes those locks don’t go away after a reboot. I used to do some terminal hocus-pocus to find out why and then fix the issue in order to be able te empty the Trash.

Turns out, holding down Shift+Option+Command (also known as Shift+Alt+Apple) and then hiting Empty Trash (securely or not) fixes the issue.

Took me 2 years to figure that out, I are sad (but happy since my Trash is now once again enpty).
